The charging station in detail

You can charge your car quickly, easily and safely at the RWE charging post. The comprehensive installation of a public charging infrastructure in Germany and Europe has already begun. Starting with larger cities, the network of charging points is becoming denser. RWE is counting on cooperations with local municipal utilities and companies for this development. This means that e-cars can be charged very easily not just at home but also at your place of work, in public car parks or, for example, in shopping centres.

"Plug & Charge" - charge wherever you park

Charging electric cars is very easy. Simply connect the vehicle to the charging station with the charging cable. The vehicle will be charged and you have time on your hands. Incidentally, you can interrupt charging and continue your journey at any time – without any disadvantages for the battery.

Automatic authentication via the charging cable*

The vehicle logs itself into the system once the connection has been established. The post's intelligent charge control system identifies the customer and releases the charging point. The exact consumption is measured automatically.

Simple and exact settlement of accounts

At the end of charging the RWE customer centre is informed of the amount of energy that has been charged and this is assigned to your account. You will be sent the invoice along with the itemization on a quarterly basis per post.

Electrically mobile throughout Europe

RWE is pushing for German and international standardization. Standardised plugs, standard data communication and harmonized settlement protocols will allow any car to be charged at any post. What's more, RWE's roaming agreements let you charge you car with other suppliers with no problems.

* Initially, automatic authentication will only be possible for RWE contractual customers.
